CHOOSING NOVAIR NITROGEN GENERATORS

You invest in a reliable, efficient and cost-effective solution for your business, ensuring a stable nitrogen supply and optimizing production processes.

NITROGEN SUPPLY ISSUES

Companies that use industrial nitrogen face several serious restrictions:
  • High costs: purchase, transportation, storage and rental of cryogenic cylinders or tanks.
  • Supplier dependency: delivery times, price fluctuations, and the risk of shortages.
  • Logistics and safety issues: Handling of pressurized cylinders, the need for proper storage.
  • Environmental impact: Transport-related emissions.

NOVAIR'S SOLUTION: ON-SITE NITROGEN PRODUCTION

The nitrogen generator allows companies to:
  • Production of own nitrogen: termination of supply and full autonomy.
  • Achieve significant savings: The cost of production is much lower than when purchasing cylinders or tanks.
  • Ensuring their supply: nitrogen is available at any time without interruptions.
  • Optimize their management: more orders, storage and handling of cylinders.
  • Reduce their carbon footprint: reduce supply and optimize energy consumption.

HOW DOES THE NITROGEN GENERATOR WORK?

The air we breathe contains about 78% nitrogen. To be used effectively, it must be isolated from other components of the air, such as oxygen, moisture, or even fine particles. This is exactly what the nitrogen generator allows, providing local and continuous production of gas from the surrounding air. There are two main nitrogen production technologies:
  • PSA Nitrogen Generator (Pressure drop adsorption)
  • Membrane Nitrogen Generator

PSA NITROGEN GENERATOR

The PSA process is based on a pressure-varying adsorption system. It consists of two tanks containing a molecular sieve (activated carbon) capable of capturing oxygen and other gases present in the air. Under pressure, nitrogen is filtered and collected, while other gases are trapped by the sieve.

The cycle works alternately: when one tank is saturated, the other takes over, while the first regenerates by releasing trapped gases. This automated process enables the production of high-purity nitrogen, ideal for applications requiring a high level of quality.

MEMBRANE NITROGEN GENERATOR

Unlike PSA technology, the membrane generator uses a bundle of hollow fibers to separate the components from the air. When passing through the membrane, oxygen, water vapor and other gases quickly pass through the fibers, while nitrogen remains limited and is recovered at the exit of the system.

Compact and fast, this type of generator is particularly suitable for applications requiring continuous production with moderate cleanliness requirements.

ADVANTAGES OF THE NITROGEN GENERATOR

  • Gas is available 24/7: Nitrogen is produced continuously, which guarantees immediate availability at all times.
  • Continuous production: No delivery delays: No more waiting for deliveries, nitrogen is generated instantly as needed.
  • Guaranteed cleanliness: The generator provides complete gas quality control depending on the specific application requirements.
  • Increased safety: The absence of pressure storage tanks significantly reduces the risks associated with gas handling and transportation.
  • Demonstrated savings: Eliminating shipping, storage, and rental costs ensures a quick return on investment and reduced operating costs.
  • No logistical constraints: There is no longer any need to manage gas stocks, supplies, or orders, which greatly simplifies supply management.
  • No risk of supply disruptions: nitrogen is produced locally in line with demand, eliminating any risk of shortages.
  • Environmentally responsible solution: 0 deliveries and 0 emissions of pollutants: By eliminating transportation and reducing the amount of waste associated with cylinders, the nitrogen generator helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

APPLICATION OF NITROGEN GENERATORS

Nitrogen, a gas naturally present in the atmosphere, is widely used in industry for various applications such as laser cutting, modified atmosphere conditioning, and inertization. Our nitrogen generators are suitable for many industries:
  • Food industry: Nitrogen is an efficient and cost-effective solution without additives that can stop bacterial growth, reduce oxidation, preserve the taste and texture of food, extend its shelf life and improve its appearance. freshness.
  • Laser cutting: The use of nitrogen as an auxiliary inert gas is necessary to ensure optimal laser cutting and maximum machine productivity.
  • Electronics: Nitrogen creates an inert atmosphere in the production of printed circuit boards and electronic components, thereby improving product quality and reducing the number of defects associated with oxidation.
  • Brewery: Nitrogen is used in the brewery to create a stable, uniform foam, improve the texture of beer, and preserve its flavor by limiting oxidation.
  • Oil and Gas: Nitrogen is an ideal gas for increasing pressure in oil wells, as it increases productivity and prevents corrosion of drill pipes, unlike carbon dioxide.
  • Winemaking: Nitrogen is commonly used in wineries at various stages of production, such as spraying, blanching, and washing, to limit enzymatic oxidation, slow bacterial growth, and protect wine from oxidation.
  • Laboratory: Laboratories require high purity nitrogen for many scientific and analytical purposes.
